Course Information (14-16yrs)

Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector

Duration:

One day a week 9.30am-3.30pm.

Start date:

September

Entry requirements:

Open to year 10 students with a good attendance and behaviour reference from the relevant school

School funded

Hairdressing equipment:

Approx. £10 - £20.00
Tunic £15.00

Qualifications:

Level one equivalent to 2 GCSE

Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing

Duration:

One day a week for 2 years 9.30am-3.30pm

Start date:

September

Entry requirements:

Open to year 10 students with a good attendance and behaviour reference from the relevant school. Combined SAT’s score of at least 10 in Maths, English and Science

Cost:

School funded

Hairdressing equipment:

Approx. £50.00
Tunic £15.00

Qualifications:

Level 2 (VRQ) equivalent to 4 GCSE

Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing - Young Apprenticeship

Duration:

Two days a week for 2 years 9.30am-3.30pm
(One day a week will be in a work placement)

September

Entry requirements:

Open to year 10 students with a good attendance and behaviour reference from the relevant school. Combined SAT’s score of at least 14 in Maths, English and Science

Qualifications:

Level 2 (VRQ) equivalent to 4 GCSE

Course Information (16yrs+)

Hairdressing Level 2 Apprenticeship

Content:

NVQ Level 2 in Women’s Hairdressing and Key Skills Level 1

Duration:

One day a week for up to 2 years 9.30am - 4.00pm

Start date:

September

Entry requirements:

You must be 16 and have left school. Must be employed by a salon for at least 30 hours a week. (If you are not currently employed, please contact The Academy for a list of the salons we currently work with) D grade GCSE Maths and English

Cost:

Government funded (LSC) subject to availability

Hairdressing Level 3 Apprenticeship

Content:

NVQ Level 3 in Women’s Hairdressing and Key Skills Level 2

Duration:

One evening a week for up 18 months. 4.00pm - 6.00pm

Start date:

Varies, contact The Academy for dates

Entry requirements:

NVQ Level 2. You must be employed or self employed and running a varied column

Cost:
